It is possible we may be forced to change some dates. However, in
general I will try to consult with the orchestra members regarding any proposed
changes.
Also, please review the concert attendance policy as stated
on the syllabus. Unexcused absences will have a negative impact on grades.
Excused
absences include:
- Serious personal illness (phone
call/note required from a parent/guardian)
- Family emergency (phone call/note
required from a parent/guardian)
- Unavoidable prior conflict: If I
have scheduled an event on the same day as a family commitment (wedding in New
York, etc...) which has already been set, please give me a note (from a parent)_
stating the date and nature of the problem. You have 3 class periods
after the release of the calendar to notify me of problems. Failure to
notify me within 3 class periods will result in the absence being 'unexcused'.
There
are, of course, always things that come up. We can solve these on a
case-by-case basis, but you must contact me as soon as you are aware of the
conflict. Thanks!
